Amy’s brother James has been treated for a brain tumour and this poem was written after a day out with the sibling group from Ward 27, Leicester Royal Infirmary.

A POEM ABOUT OUR DAY AT SUNDOWN

It was bright and sunny
There was lots to do
I’m glad Rosemary
Said I could come too

We all ran around and around
And in and out up and down
I didn’t care when the rain came down
I was dry with my friends inside playtown

It wasn’t the rain that got me soaked
It was the pirates squirting me in the boats
The bikes and go-carts
Then off to the parks

Little Red Riding Hood and the Ginger
Bread Man
Three Little Pigs and The Goldilocks Clan
The little houses were so much fun

Then off to smelly castle we run
It smelled so sweet good enough to eat
Around and around with tired feet
Too more things
Home and sleep
