In the early editions of Contact we were able to include poems received from patients and parents. In recent times, there has been so much pressure on space in the magazine that this has not been possible. So in 2004 the Editorial Board for Contact had the idea of producing an anthology of poems to include the many moving and inspiring poems we had received. Reflections on Childhood Cancer was published in the summer and distributed widely in treatment centres. Copies are still available free of charge from CCLG.
Since the publication of Reflections we have continued to receive poems from various quarters and so have opened up a poetry section of the website. It is clear that many people find poetry to be a particular source of comfort, hope and inspiration, and therefore welcome contributions from all budding poets.
